The querent, a master’s student, asked a horary question regarding the completion of her degree. At the time of asking, she was at the final stages of her thesis—a requirement for earning her master’s degree. However, she was deeply frustrated by the repetitive and seemingly futile process of revisions, coming and going between her professor and the statistician. She was tired and seriously considering postponing the completion of her master’s program. She wanted to know whether she would take her degree that year or not.

She was signified by Mars L1 and the Moon. The master’s degree (as a title) is signified by 10th house, literally the house of “magistery” as William Lilly points. If we could find an aspect between Mars, L1 or the Moon with the Sun, L10 the master’s degree that would signify her getting her degree, and then we could check the time to see if that’d happen that year. Unfortunately, Venus prohibits the aspect between the Sun and Mars as it aspects Mars first, right before the Sun does.
The answer comes from the Moon. In order to get her master’s degree, she must have completed her thesis. This is what must be done first so she could take her degree. The Moon is L9 of higher knowledge, the thesis. The Moon is about to complete its course in the sign of Leo in 3* and 17’ – in 3 and 17 time units. The Moon is in a fixed sign and inside an angle which it could point to the slowest of time, months (years is not possible).
She completed her thesis almost to the time indicated: 3 months and 15 days after this question was asked.
She took her degree that same year!
